What excitement and adventure for us all aboard Ruth and Lance Shaw’s 20-meter Motor-Sail Yacht Breaksea Girl. Based on the South Island of New Zealand, Breaksea Girl will be your home for an incredible diving and wildlife adventure.
Ruth and Lance have been so kind as to allow UnderSea What We See, Inc. to introduce our clients to the wildlife above and below the waters of the South Island and the Islands of the Subantarctic, giving us an opportunity to view spectacular scenery and dive with incredible creatures.
Lance and Ruth, both active conservationists with maritime qualifications, offer you a true natural history eco-tourism experience. Recognized as one of the leading eco-tourism businesses in New Zealand, their emphasis is on environmental protection, education and research funded though tourism.
Lance, your skipper, has over the last 24 years worked with the New Zealand Department of Conservation, Jacques Cousteau, David Bellamy, National Geographic, Natural History film units and scientists from all over the world.
Included activities are penguin watching, tramping, photography, snorkeling, diving, snorkeling education, marine mammal watching and forest walks. Fiordland Ecology Holidays have a Marine Mammal Watching permit, which allows you to swim with seals and dolphins if the opportunity arises. Enquires are welcomed from disabled or elderly and special diets are catered for. Breaksea Girl is the only charter yacht based in Doubtful Sound, Fiordland.
